Veolia supplies drinking water to the homes of the Patio Bonito village through the weekly tanker truck service, with the objective of ensuring access to the water resource for the families of the community, contributing to the protection of public health.
Veolia also provides a weekly delivery of water bottles to the La Gloria school in the Patio Bonito village.

Veolia supports public health programs for the Patio Bonito village, including annual health brigade visits the to village, vector control in the 40 homes of the Patio Bonito village, against crawling insects, flying insects and rodents on a semi-annual basis.

Veolia conducts a series of sanitation programs in the local area, including the regular cleanup of “critical points” identified with local authorities, to prevent disease and reduce nuisance to local residents.
Veolia also collects and disposes of bulky or non-compactable waste that cannot be collected by ordinary waste collection services.

In Patio Bonito, Veolia conducts a variety of educational programs to raise awarenesss on environmental issues. The Environmental Guardians program aims to help kids understand they can be agents of change in the sustainable management of natural resources.
Raising environmental awareness in the community
Veolia is involved in coordinated actions for the defense and protection of the most important body of water in the District of Barrancabermeja.
Frequent environmental workshops are held in the San Silvestre Marsh of Barrancabermeja, in partnership with territorial entities and KIKELANDIA DAY. These activities include cleaning the wetlands, planting days in the watercourse, and environmental training for fishermen.

Veolia leads programs to generate economic opportunities for women in rural areas of Colombia. In Patio Bonito, Veolia sponsored a beauty technique training aimed at rural women in the community of Patio Bonito, as an initiative of empowerment and economic opportunity in the area.
